The database that will contain generic history and civics information will have three grade-level sections:

Elementary School and Middle School will repeat topics listed under the High School/Adult section, but the content and language will be grade-appropriate. A sample of the High School/Adult section can be viewed here.

The generic database will be controlled by four elements: Timeline, Ethnic and/or Cultural Group, State and Topics.

  1. Timeline: The timeline will enable users to dynamically view content by state, topic, period, and ethnic and/or cultural group. For demonstration purposes, the timeline covers 1860–1869, with the following defaults:

  3. Ethnic and/or Cultural Group: This Index is set to the default of Asian Americans. The complete list of Ethnic and/or Cultural Groups covered by the Americans All® program is viewable, but upon clicking, users will be taken to resources on Asian Americans, with the following defaults:

  4. Decade: All

    State: Hawaii

    Topic: Elections

  5. State Index: The State Index presents users with a map of the United States. For demonstration purposes, the default state is Hawaii, with the following additional defaults:

    Ethnic and/or Cultural Group: All

    Topic: Hawaii

  7. Topic Index: The Topic Index presents users with the complete listing of Americans All® topics.
